Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and innovative Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist for our Manager of Therapeutic Recreation position. In this role, the Manager will lead the planning, implementation and evaluation of Therapeutic Recreation programs across our inpatient and long-term care settings. This role plays a key part in enhancing the quality of life for our residents and patients through developing meaningful, person-centered recreational activities. The manager will also serve as crucial coordinating team member to our larger department, Therapeutic and Developmental Support Services. This team consists of Therapeutic Recreation as well as Child Life and Creative Arts.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, development and implementation of Therapeutic Recreation

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years experience working with hospitalized children
  • Administrative/Management experience preferred

Education, Licensure, and Certification

  • Mandatory active certification as a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist
  • Bachelor’s Degree Required in Therapeutic Recreation/Recreation Therapy or a related field
  • Master’s Degree preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Standing, walking, stooping. 
  • Ability to transfer children and equipment.
  • Ability to meet flexible scheduling demands and patient care needs.
